What We Believe
God’s Love and Grace.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. (John 3:16-17)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
“Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the good news I preached to you. By this you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same
time…”. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
The Bible is the Word of God–“a light that guides our feet and our path.”
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Every person has worth as a creation of God, but we all sin and fall short of the glory of God.
“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:22-24)
Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord, repent of their sins, openly confess their faith and are baptized in to Christ.
“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:22-23)
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’.” (Acts 2:38)
We (the Church) are the body of Christ on Earth, each of us empowered by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of loving God, loving one another and do good works.
”I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my physical body what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,” Col 1:24
“Now to each one the demonstration of the Holy Spirit is given for the benefit of all.” (1 Corinthians 12:7)
“”Jesus said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind”.” Matthew 22:37
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:1-)
“For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Jesus Christ will one day return to judge the world.
“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep (die), or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have died in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the return of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have died.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
